Mayor Briley endorsed by Out and About Nashville
We have officially been endorsed by our city's prominent LGBT-focused magazine, Out & About Nashville.

As you know, David Briley has committed his career to progressive issues, and standing up for LGBT rights has been no exception. Out & About understands this commitment and wrote:
Mayor Briley was an active supporter of the LGBT community when doing so wasn’t politically safe, even in Nashville. He sat on the board of Nashville CARES during the AIDS crisis. He supported non-discrimination when it was killed, and has always been there to vote to defend the rights of members of our community.
It's these values that have made Mayor Briley one of the most LGBT-friendly mayors that Nashville has ever had.
Out & About also had something to say about our opponents silence on these issues:
John Cooper has not been proactive on behalf of LGBT rights, and he’s not taken political risks to support the community. Further, his conservatism, we believe, will hamper growth and job creation, and we do not believe that Cooper will make the difficult decisions to go out on limbs for minority communities.
We couldn't agree more. John Cooper's silence means he either doesn't stand behind LGBT rights, or it means he's scared he'll lose his conservative support if he stands behind LGBT rights. Either way, it should be a red flag, and it shows a lack of leadership.
